"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend,is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

I Could Not Ask for More

Wow..what a week.. A four day migraine and growing pains for me. Last month, Marshes lost his first tooth. Yea.. another milestone achieved. It was one that I realized that I wasn't ready for him to hit. He's so incredibly cute with his whistely/lispy speech with the loss. And the one next to it is close to leaving..closely followed behind with a big bohunker to take its place. Its adorable..but just another reminder of how quicly time is passing.
And with this loss I came to the realization of just how unfairly I treat our two kids.

I readily praise, cheer and celebrate all the milestones that Marshall has hit thus far. To have the opportunity to share and celebrate all of his firsts have been wonderful.. Our two kids are so incredibly opposite and different. And neither hold a higher place on the love/like scale in my heart. It's a daily struggle to try and make sure that they are treated equally as a parent can feasibly accomplish, while taking into consideration that each child has different needs and must be treated accordingly. So far, in my heart I believe I have done a fairly successful job in this aspect.

Until recently. Then it became very apparant that I don't as easily treat, celebrate and welcome all of the same pre requisite achievements and milestones for Rachel. For as quickly as MArshall is trying to grow up.. Rachel will always be the baby in the notches of our family. And I am in no uncertain way wanting to cross off any of those monumental crossings. What happened to our baby? She is 4 today!!
WTH?? How did that happen so quickly? Four? Quatro? Wait.. no.. this is going waaayyy too fast!! Thank God she still sucks her thumb and carries her "buddy" everywhere we go.. That crocheded angel blanket is almost in threads in places.. And I have spent more hours in hindsight frantically searching for him when left in stores, cars, and other places. And more prayers have been said over that friend than any other. I'm sure her Orthodondist bill will come close to two college semesters I once was blessed with. But I will gladly pay it as long as I can just hold on to these precious times a little while longer.

Something else I realized recently was a day I dread.. the day when the correct way to pronounce words will not be music to my dreading ears. The day when "Wachel" becomes Rachel..and brother will no longer be "brudda" and when with will no longer be "wiff".. How precious these days are. And change is inevitable.. but my heart is just doing flips over these changes. My prayer will be to be able to smile big and actually say the right words of encouragement to celebrate all of their wonderful achievements..casue truth is..I will always be Marshes & Rache's greatest fan.. I'm listening to the song "I could NOt Ask for More" by sara Evans and how this is so true. The song of my life.. I truly can't ask for anything more.. I have been blessed beyond measure. Plesae just let this time be nurturing and loving so that I make sure that I give them all they need to get through this big world.
They are such special and unique individuals.. And I can't ask for more..

Cause & Effect~What I Learned From Coach Hurst

Gun History

After reading the following historical facts, read the part
about Switzerland twice:

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY:

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

------------------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981,100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

------------------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

-----------------------------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

------------------------------

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens.'
Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!
SWITZERLAND 'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.

SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

IT'S A NO BRAINER!

DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!

If you are too, please forward.

Just think how powerful our government is getting!

They think these other countries just didn't do it right.

Learn from history.

Esp. good during these hard times

Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long
enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.
